Level 1
Charge Anywhere, When You Have Extra Time

A Fast Way to Charge
- Faster charging than Level 1, using 240V power
- Readily plugs into a NEMA 14-50 AC power outlet (the same as an electric stove)
- The Ford Mobile Power Cord can charge an F-150 Lightning with extended-range battery in as little as 21 hours (15-100%) with an average of 13-14 miles per charging hour.
- The Ford Mobile Power Cord can charge a Mustang Mach-E with extended-range battery and RWD in as little as 14 hours (0-100%) with an average of 21 miles per charging hour.
Level 2 / Wired-In
Charge Even Faster
- Ideal for daily charging needs, based on regular driving habits
- An even faster 240V option for home charging
- A permanent, hard-wired charging solution connected to your home’s electrical system
- The Ford Charge Station Pro can charge an F-150 Lightning with extended-range battery in as little as 9 hours (15-100%) with an average of 30 miles per charging hour.
- The Ford Connected Charge Station can charge a Mustang Mach-E with extended-range battery and RWD in as little as 11 hours (0-100%) with an average of 27 miles per charging hour.
Level 3 (DC Fast Charging)
The Fastest Charging Option for Occasional Needs
- Impractical for daily home charging, requiring major changes to a residential electrical system
- Limited to public charging stations, with the potential to get you back on the road in under an hour
- Your best option to get back on the road quickly
- Should only be used occasionally to maintain battery health
Fast, Practical Charging for Most EV Drivers

If you have an average commute, the Ford Mobile Power Cord could be an ideal way to recharge an EV overnight. Plug it into any 240V NEMA 14-50 outlet – just like the one you use for an electric stove. It can also be used with the more common 120V outlet, for charging at a lower speed.

If you don’t want to use Home Backup Power with your F-150 Lightning, or if your EV doesn’t have the capability, consider a professionally installed Ford Connected Charge Station.
Home Back-Up Power
If your neighborhood experiences power outages be prepared for a blackout. Home Backup Power uses the energy of your F-150 Lightning to power your home for up to 3 days*.
Home Charging Installation
When putting in any hard-wired Ford charge station, we suggest using our recommended installer. As part of the Ford Power Promise, both the charger and standard installation are complimentary. Of course, if you already have your own certified electric vehicle service equipment (EVSE) installer, we’ll help them get the job done.
